*An anthology of poems, all relating to the same subject; which is the eternal battle between evil and love. Actually the poems are about the evils of fascism.

The demonic 1%
Dead eyed soulless, mind intruders.
Capitalistic, brain incapacitating, seducers.
Poverty producing, humanity reducing,
Mindless consumer, producers.

A Breakfast for Fascism

Parades, proudly politicized.

Crowds, hatred infused,
Energized.

The unrelenting beat of hatred,

A Mass conglomeration,
Of Congealing humanoids, gesticulating.
Congregating, Congratulating.
Holocaust, Conflagration,
Commemorated, celebrated.
Genocide, romanticized,
Rationalized.
Remorse snuffed out,
Shoved down. Pulverized. 
Conscience, suppressed,
Forbidden. Internalized. 

Mass Deluding for Mass Destruction 
Captive audiences, captured.
Into the coliseums, corralled.
Contained and restrained, 
Encapsulated. 

Ethnically Cleansed, cauterized. 

Puppets applauding,
Blindly, obedient.
Autonomy subdued,
Incapacitated.
Artificial elation, instated.
Malevolence, encouraged, 
Instigated.
A morbid celebration.
A dystopian Exaltation.
A population enlivening,
Hatred inspiring, Oration. 
Standing ovation mandatory.

How can such evil be allowed to flourish???
We are better than that!!!
Well actually, no. We are not.
Regardless……

No one is safe from the long arm of Tyranny. The Specter of Indifference does not discriminate.

The thing is, it is all so unavoidable. At least the way the world is now, it is. We are fallible human beings and our responses to oppression, or perceived oppression, are predictable. Evil and power manipulation can very easily change our thinking. We always seem to look out for ourselves. It is all to do with self-preservation. It takes a certain lived experience, to be able to act defensively, in the name of love. And of course, it takes being able to do that, In some way. Sometimes all options are out of reach, and we simply cannot help in the way we may want to. 

I think being loved as a child, in the right way, is important. A comprehensive education is important as well. We need to be aware of the ways in which we are indoctrinated and how to recognize when it is happening. 

Tho……
Even Atom bombs cannot incinerate our capacity to love.
Humanity, though often unseen, remains.
Unstained. Self-contained. Safe.

Conscious Creatures
Unsung heroes,
Freedom believers.
Humanities conscious creatures.
Steadily existing, Persisting. 
Inside the shadows, 
Steadfastly resisting.

These, Justice fighting, 
Truth igniting,
Tyranny slayers.
These, bravely Love displaying,
Hope portraying,
Oppression obliterating,
Fellowship Inspiring,
Sparkle intact,
Spirit Enlivening,
Humanity Resurrecting,
Soldiers of goodness.

Retrospective Inspectors 
Retrospective inspectors,
Dissectors of evil.
Postmortem examiners.
Conducting, reconstructing,
Historical Autopsies.
Keen eyes to analyze,
Abominable Atrocities.

Reported Results:
That Love, in the end, triumphs.
That, even in darkness, heroes exist.
That, Humanity undying, eternal, persists.
That, In the face of great evil,
Shines the greatest love imaginable.
That, deep, deep, inside us all,
Lives a knowing morality, which is love.
That, it is Love that informs us,
What is right and what is wrong.
That, for some, that existing love, lies dormant.
That for some, Fear is an overpowering,
All consuming, invading, entity.
That, love, sometimes is forbidden.
That, such levels of evil, change human minds.
That, this occurs on a cellular level.
That, we are powerless over what we will become,
And how we will be changed by said evil.
That, everything is a result of something else.
That, we are built, block by block.
That, some minds, will just not be able to withstand Tyranny. 
But also…. That some lives, and some minds, can put up a fight.

That, the birth lottery determines the person we become,and who we will be, in any moment of time. People do not like to hear that. 

But the main conclusion deduced, under great scrutiny and examination, is that love’s power, far surpasses that of hate. That, some hearts, even if few, can overtake and eliminate the greatest of injustices.

What is sad, is how little influence it requires to infect human minds. That’s through no fault of the infallible human being. I must make that clear.

And not everyone was so hoodwinked. People were in a position where resisting was not an option, in most cases. So, I feel like I’ve given society a bad rap, in this poetry collection. Because there were plenty of people who were against everything that was happening. And it’s sad how the physical survival of their families, relied on their complete submission. They could not teach their children that what was happening was wrong, they had to allow their malleable minds to be indoctrinated into fascism, and just hope that deep inside of them lived a knowledge where love resided.

I cannot imagine how that must have felt. I can just imagine the heavy silence. Where words were wanting to be spoken but were Oppressed. Where parents were unable to encourage love in their children.
