The Best Day

By

Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.

I am happiest when I have my family around me, so my ideal day would be a day when we are all together for the entire day. I spend a lot of time alone. My daughter is a student, and when she is not at university, she is studying a lot in her room. My husband works in residential care, so he is away three days at a time. I feel my best days are on the days that he is home and we are all under one roof. Even if we are all doing different things, it is comforting to know we are all together.

But I guess some activities can make a day even more enjoyable. I always start my day with coffee. This has been a tradition since I was a teenager, and I discovered how life-changing caffeine was for me, lol! Usually, I have at least one or two family members with me in the morning. I enjoy our conversations. I love saying good morning to our dog, Sunny.

I prefer Spring, Summer, and Fall, so my ideal day would be during those seasons. Even though I am very uncomfortable leaving my home, when I force myself to go somewhere like Art Knapps, I feel better afterwards. My daughter and I like to buy plants there. In the past, I enjoyed having lunch with my partner at our favorite restaurant. We would sit on the patio. People would have their dogs there. Ours couldn't go there, as she is far too crazy of a dog to behave, but it was calming to see the other dogs there.

I am more content in my mind when I am busy, so my ideal day would not be sitting around around all day. Although I do like to be lazy, just not for long periods. If I wasn't so unsettled being in society, I would go for walks and grocery shop. Those are things I enjoyed in the past. Now, I feel weird and like I'm having a fever dream whenever I leave my house and have to be around people.

I do enjoy visiting with my dad and my siblings families. I like seeing all my nieces and nephews, who are now all grown up. I like it when we are all together and having fun. I love being there in the Summer and swimming in my brother and sister-in-law's pool. I like being back in my hometown. It was burnt down a few years ago, which made visiting there very sad. But now, it is finally being rebuilt, so that makes me feel hopeful. It is ever so upsetting tho. It will never be as it once was.

And visiting with my family is not the same without my mom there. She made everything very fun. She made me feel like I was home. I felt welcomed. I felt like I belonged. Like I'd never left home. It's different now. Nobody is to blame for that.

Well, my ideal day seems to be a day that I am with my loved ones. It is a day where I am doing a few things besides sitting on the couch. Enjoying nature makes me happy, even if now it is harder for me. Listening to audiobooks, writing, and watching comfort television, make me happy. I especially love Studio Ghibli movies. We rewatch The Office. Having nice meals is great of course. At the end of the day, resting in bed with my partner is the best way to cap off the day. We usually scroll social media. I LOVE YouTube. I love music and humour. If these things are in my day, I am happy.

Thank you very much for reading my stuff!

A perfect day isn’t about doing big things—it’s about those little moments that sneak up on you, like a great cup of coffee, a warm conversation, or finally remembering where you put your keys. Life has a funny way of reminding us that happiness isn’t always in grand plans but in the comfort of familiar faces, good food, and stolen naps. Time moves fast, and people come and go, but if you can end the day laughing at a meme in bed, you’re probably doing life right!

I agree wholeheartedly with what you are saying. It is during the moments of connection and laughter where we will find the most fulfillment in our lives. Thank you for taking the time to connect!
