How have your political views changed over time?

Ha! I am so far left I'm currently falling of the ledge. My title for today's question, often has negative connotations applied to it.It's as if having a foundation built on empathy and compassion for the suffering of others is seen as a bad thing by some people. These descriptors are often used as insults, are they not?
My political views have not changed over time, not in the least bit. As a younger person, I have to admit that I was not interested in politics. This is odd because I was a strong believer in social justice. I was reading some of my journals from the early 90's, and I was filled with passionate rage over what was unjust in the world. I didn't seem to get that fighting for social justice IS political.
I've always been a communist at heart. Not in the way certain dictators have bastardized Carl Marx's vision though. Or perhaps I am a socialist. I believe in fairness, I always have. That is never going to change. I have already designed the kind of world I wish existed, in my mind. I've written about it extensively through several manifesto-like, pieces of writing, lol!
The thing is, my vision would take a lot of cooperation from not only society but political leaders as well. Therefore I would have to be the one supreme leader, overseeing the implementation of my plan. Additionally, there would be a bit of fascism. Some freedoms would be taken away. I'm not sure if that is fascism by definition. 🫡🤔
In other writings, I've talked about the infertility vaccine that every person would be required to take in my utopian world.😂 Just any old person can have children? That is so fuken stupid. That's why there is so much child abuse and neglect because people are free to have children like it is their right. Now, keep in mind that this vaccine can be reversed upon completion of my intensive seven-step parenting class.😂 Also, keep in mind that, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and income are not considered when giving people their license to have kids.
Additionally, there would be parenting guidelines that must be followed. They would be simple, but they also put the child's healthy development above all else. Obviously, corporal punishment would be illegal. I could go on and on about what my utopian world would look like, but I'll reign myself in. Families would have a lot more support too. And there would be no struggle to provide the necessities in life, like food and shelter. STOP IT, JUST STOP IT!🙃
So my political views have not changed, except that now I vote. I vote for the party that will do the least damage to the vulnerable segments of our society. I vote strategically, rather than wasting my vote. Usually I vote NDP. That is the working class party, here in Canada. Sometimes I vote liberal. Not because I like either party very much. I just vote to try and keep the Conservatives from winning, since that is the party that gives the least fucks about the marginalized segments of society.
And I am not going to age in the way of the Boomer generation. I don't understand how they could care so much about social justice, and then just turn on themselves. Did they ever genuinely care about marginalized people, or were they pretending? Was it only considered cool back then to fight injustice? Was it a superficial rebellion? These are questions I have asked myself. How can a generation go from fighting for fairness and equality to having conservative or republican values? This is very hard for me to fathom.
Oh, and please, if you are a Boomer, take no offense. You may not be who I am referring to. I am talking about the group as a whole, not individual people.
And keep in mind, I am writing from the perspective of a Canadian who also sees a lot of stuff going on in the US. So my writing is from my point of view, geographically. At least, for the most part, it is. This is why I love this platform for writing. We are all residing in different geographical locations, so there is a great opportunity to learn from each other. We forget we are not the center of the world. Other places, much different from where we live, exist. It seems like we should know this automatically, but alas, we forget.
Thank you to everyone who reads my stuff. It may not be polished or well-written, but it is honest. And I don't want to change the way I write, because it is a reflection of who I am. I am not pretending here, typing this. I am a real person.
